Hey,
It’s that time again… a short update has made its way to your inbox. I hope you had a good start into the new year and we have finally left winter behind!
In January I was helping on a New Year’s camp of SoulDevotion, a Christian movement of which I am part of. To make it short, it was very encouraging and life bringing to be a part of and see how God continues to build his Kingdom in Germany, to watch and be amazed by all that He is doing. After the camp I made my way to Holmsted Manor in South England. Here there is a Youth with a Mission centre, where I have been several times before. This time I was here to have some conversations about a
possible shared future in ministry. The week went by highlighted by God’s guidance and full of encouragement.Afterwards, having returned to Germany, I took some time to be alone with God. First and foremost, to have uninterrupted time with Him. But also to find out what would be my next steps, as the last known step for me ended with the trip to England.
The last couple years have been life bringing for me, but the change every three months (mainly between Germany and Brazil) was very emotional and physically draining. I always knew it was just a season that would come to an end, but over and over again I felt the desire of a more constant home with less change. The main question that I had was, what is the plan? Because neither is wrong and I also wouldn’t want to change this past season for anything. I was ready to keep going in the same way, or to change everything and go a totally different way. None of which has happened…

I felt led to go to England. Brazil and Germany didn’t end but are building together, with England, my ministry triangle. This means my focus and my home is in England, and my job here with Youth with a Mission. Long-term, my goal here is to invest myself in Discipleship, Staff Development and Pastoral Care. Yet I will continue to have the chance to go to Germany and Brazil and invest myself in the very same ministry there.
I have been here for one month, and I am happy to say I am in the right place. It brings joy to invest myself here and I am enjoying having a long-term home. I’ve already had many chances to invest myself into people here but also invest myself very practically e.g. in Grounds, Accounts or the Registrar office. And so I am back in the country where my time with Youth with a Mission began.

One last highlight before leaving for England was a family skiing holiday in Switzerland, where I could not only enjoy the snow, which is my element, but also my family in a great way. A huge blessing!
Next month we are going back to South Africa to the Men’s Outreach, there is still room if anyone is interested!
Lots of Love,
Raphael

surprising that we could live so close to the beach and yet not be able to find the time to go there. My ministry partner always said how important it is for him that we also have some time of fun! But after all, I have to say that the ministry itself was fun and has been a source of energy that was sufficient. For that reason it hasn’t been bad at all that we haven’t made it to the beach a lot! In my time I could also learn to dig after the true source of life and through that, it all wasn’t so hard.

and said that a sermon I had given over a year ago in his church had impacted his life. It's nice to know that the work is not for nothing but that it is helping people on their way with or to Jesus. As a “guest-preacher” I often don’t have the privilege to see how lives have been impacted and for that reason it is even nicer when some people come directly after the service and tell me that the messaged “delivered” by me has spoken something into their lives and moments and touched them. For me the only thing that is left in times like that is to pass on the Glory to my Daddy. After all it is not me working in the people, I am just the post man! And when I get to invest in people like that it is like having a front row seat and watching how God cares for the people he loves so much. What a privilege!
The situation here in the Vila has improved a lot! We also have been able to get a little motorbike which helps me to be more flexible and also to get out once in a while. That really helps keep my sanity ;)
