Hey, Yes, it’s already that time again. Christmas and the New Year are coming round the corner and I, too, have made it back safe and sound to Germany. The second half of my time in Brazil has continued to be amazing. Our course with the Missão Ekklesia had more practical parts by which we also had the chance to impact the people from the Favela (a more simple neighborhood). Especially in this difficult time, for the people we could bring hope and love. And we had the chance to pray directly for some of the drug dealers. At the graduation of the course we heard testimonies of how the participants have been influenced through the course. It has been an encouragement to see how the understanding of the day by day mission has been increased. I am personally very happy about one of the women in the course who has started to do something for the girls. While we are having the boys for football at a school, she is doing crafts with the girls and then they can all together hear about the good news. After many tries, we finally made it to the beach. It is quite surprising that we could live so close to the beach and yet not be able to find the time to go there. My ministry partner always said how important it is for him that we also have some time of fun! But after all, I have to say that the ministry itself was fun and has been a source of energy that was sufficient. For that reason it hasn’t been bad at all that we haven’t made it to the beach a lot! In my time I could also learn to dig after the true source of life and through that, it all wasn’t so hard. Sundays, like many other days, have been reserved for preaching. It is quite tiring and a lot of work. But it is an amazing experience to sit down and experience God’s faithfulness week after week. He gives new ideas and thoughts and is always there in all the preparation and on the day of the delivery as He gives peace and speaks through me. I am so thankful that in the whole time with all these sermons he has been faithful again and again! He is a God who can do and does a lot of things but there is one thing He surely never does, He never leaves us alone! And what’s next? This question I have asked myself and I get to hear over and over again. And the answer is quite simple… I don’t know, yet. Until January, I have had a few conversations about some options. And I am sure that until then, nothing will be for sure. However, I have a wonderful peace. I know that I will continue in ministry and that it will be good.  At the right time the right doors will open up. It’s a little hard to write about my pros and cons of different options here, as that would go beyond the scope here. For that reason, I would just ask you to pray for me at this point. And if you want I can try to explain it to you personally! Now I would like to greet you with this hope: Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” – John 8:12 I wish for you that you can recognize more and more the true light that leads us out of our daily darkness, that we don’t have to sit in the dark anymore! Deutscher Newsletter Dezember 2016

Hey, nun ist es wieder so weit. Letzte Woche bin ich wieder sicher in Deutschland gelandet. Und Weihnachten sowie das nächste Jahr klopfen schon laut an der Türe! Die letzten Wochen waren wieder eine sehr Gute Zeit in Brasilien! Unser Kurs der Missão Ekklesia hatte weitere gute praktische Einheiten, bei denen wir auch in der Favela (ärmere Bezirk) einen Einfluss haben konnten. In einer schweren Zeit haben wir Hoffnung und Liebe verbreiten können. Und in diesem Zuge konnten wir auch direkt für die Dealer beten! Bei der Abschlussfeier des Kurses konnten wir dann hören wie der Kurs die Teilnehme beeinflusst hat. Dies war sehr ermutigend da alle in ihrem Verständnis der Alltäglichen Mission gewachsen sind. Persönlich bin ich so glücklich darüber das wir auch eine der Frauen im Kurs dazu gewinnen konnten, Zeit mit den Mädchen zu verbringen während wir mit den Jungs Fussballevangelisation machten. Sie sind nun bei uns an der Schule und basteln. Und alle zusammen können dann die Gute Nachricht hören! Nach langem versuchen haben wir es letztendlich auch an den Strand geschafft. Es ist schon erstaunlich, wir leben so nah und trotzdem war es zeitlich fast unmöglich. Mein Kollege hat immer gesagt, es ist ihm sehr wichtig, dass wir auch Spaß gemeinsam haben können. Doch am Ende muss ich sagen, dass der Dienst selber  Spaß- und Energiegeber genug war. Deshalb war es auch nicht schlimm dass wir es nur sehr wenig an den Strand geschafft haben. Ich habe auch gelernt, mich selber täglich nach der wahren Quelle auszustrecken und so war das alles nicht so schwer! Die Sonntage waren so wie auch einige Tage der Woche zum Predigen reserviert. Es ist zwar ganz schön anstrengend und viel Arbeit doch es ist ein wunderschönes Erlebnis sich hinzusetzen und Woche für Woche Gottes Treue zu erfahren. Wie er neue Ideen und Gedanken gibt und mich in der ganzen Vorbereitung unterstützt und am Tag der Predigt Frieden schenkt und durch mich redet. Dafür bin ich sehr dankbar, dass er die ganze Zeit bei allen der vielen Predigten immer und immer wieder treu ist! Er ist ein Gott der vieles kann und vieles tut, nur eines macht er gewiss niemals, uns alleine zu lassen! Und wie geht es jetzt weiter? Das ist die Frage die ich mir selber oft stelle und auch viel höre. Und die Antwort ist auch eher einfach. Ich weiß es noch nicht. Ich habe bis Januar noch ein paar Gespräche. Und ich weiß das bis dahin auch nichts vollkommen klar sein wird. Doch ich habe einen wunderbaren Frieden, ich weiß es geht weiter im Dienst und ich weiß es wird gut. Zur richtigen Zeit werden bestimmt die richtigen Türen aufgehen. Es ist nicht ganz so einfach die verschiedenen Möglichkeiten, wie es weiter gehen könnte, hier aufzuführen, ohne den Rahmen zu sprengen. Deshalb bitte ich einfach um Gebetsunterstützung. Und wenn du möchtest kann ich es dir dann im persönlichen Gespräch erklären! Aber für jetzt möchte ich dich mit diesem Wunsch verabschieden: Da redete Jesus abermals zu ihnen und sprach: Ich bin das Licht der Welt; wer mir nachfolgt, der wird nicht wandeln in der Finsternis, sondern wir das Licht des Lebens haben. – Johannes 8:12 Ich wünsche dir, dass du mehr und mehr das wahre Licht erkennen kannst, welches  uns täglich aus unserer Finsternis führt, damit wir nicht mehr im Dunkeln sitzen müssen.
